Black Metropolis is a concept for a speakeasy to be based in the Bronzeville neighborhood of Chicago. In the 1920s through the 1950s, Bronzeville was the center for African-American culture and business. The area was known for it's nightclubs and dancehalls, and was home to the best Black entertainers of the time. Because Bronzeville had become the epicenter for Black business, arts and music, it garnered the nickname "The Black Metropolis."

The concept of the speakeasy is to pay homage to Bronzeville's cultural roots, and I wanted the branding to reflect that. Art deco typography, pyramids and the choice of gold colors help tie together what Black Metropolis represents.
